DREAM Team Los Angeles is tabling at a book launch/signing event with Americanized: Rebel Without a Green Card author Sara Saedi. Sara was born in Iran and came to American when she was 2-years old. Her father, mother, and older sister fleeing the Iranian Revolution in the early 80’s. After several decades she was able to adjust her status but not without growing up with the constant fear of deportation. Her book is an autobiographical account of a teen girl coming of age in the 90’s in the U.S. while being undocumented, and neither American nor Iranian yet both at the same time.
Sara’s book talks about the existing policies of DACA/DAPA, the Muslim Ban, and how the current administration is using immigration policies for political gain.
DREAM Team LA will discuss how people can take part to advance common sense immigration reform and provide permanent relief to over 1 million undocumented youth.
